Responsibilities

• Senior Microsoft SQL L3 Engineer
• Position Overview
• Database Migration: Plan, execute, and validate complex database migrations, including version upgrades, on premises to cloud, and consolidation projects.
• Capacity Planning: Monitor database growth trends and forecast future capacity requirements for storage, CPU, and memory.
• Automation: Develop and maintain scripts (T-SQL, PowerShell, Python) to automate routine administrative tasks, monitoring, and deployments.
• Database Management: Install, configure, manage, monitor, and maintain SQL Server instances (specifically 2016 and newer and Azure SQL) across development, testing, and production environments.
• Performance Tuning & Optimization: Proactively monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks (CPU, Memory, I/O), and implement tuning solutions.
• High Availability & Disaster Recovery (HA/DR): Design, implement, and manage robust HA/DR solutions, including Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, Replication, and backup/recovery strategies.
• Security: Implement and enforce database security policies, manage user access and permissions, conduct regular security audits, and address vulnerabilities.
• Troubleshooting: Provide expert-level troubleshooting for database-related issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions swiftly.
• Fabric & Cloud: Provide L3-level operational and engineering support for Microsoft Fabric, alongside administration and optimization of the Power BI platform and Microsoft Azure data services, including Azure Data Factory (ADF), ETL workflows, pipeline orchestration, and compute resource management.
• Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures.

Qualifications

• Microsoft certifications: SQL 2016 and newer/Azure SQL
• Proficiency with Power BI Platform.
• Azure certification is a plus.
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience is mandatory
