Job Description
We are seeking a hybrid iOS + Backend Developer who can design and build end-to-end payment features across native iOS applications and backend services for financial systems.
Responsibilities
- Native iOS application development (Swift)
- Backend services for payment processing, transaction management, and APIs
- Design and build native iOS applications using Swift (and Objective-C when required)
- Develop seamless payment flows integrating UPI, wallets, and payment gateways (Razorpay, Paytm, Stripe, PayU, etc.)
- Implement robust UI/UX using UIKit, Auto Layout, and MVVM architecture
- Handle offline transactions, retry flows, and payment state management
- Ensure app performance, responsiveness, and a crash-free experience
- Implement secure storage using Keychain and biometric authentication (Face ID/Touch ID)
- Design and build RESTful APIs for payment processing and transaction handling
- Develop backend services for:
- Payment orchestration
- Transaction state management (pending, success, failed, refunded)
- Retry and reconciliation systems
- Implement secure authentication using OAuth2 / JWT
- Work with databases for transaction logs, payment history, and audit trails
- Ensure idempotency and consistency in financial transactions
- Integrate with third-party payment providers and banking APIs
- Use AI-powered engineering tools to accelerate development, debugging, testing, and code reviews
- Leverage tools such as Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Windsurf, or similar AI coding assistants
- Utilize AI for:
- Code generation and refactoring
- Test case creation
- Documentation generation
- API design and integration assistance
- Debugging and root-cause analysis
- Architecture exploration and technical research
- Evaluate AI-generated code for security, correctness, scalability, and maintainability
- Stay current with emerging AI development workflows and engineering best practices
- Collaborate with Product, UX, and Engineering teams to design end-to-end payment systems
- Own features from mobile UI → API → backend logic → payment gateway response handling
Qualifications
- Strong Swift and working knowledge of Objective-C
- UIKit, CoreData, Auto Layout
- MVVM / Clean Architecture
- Networking (URLSession, Alamofire)
- Combine / Async-Await
- Background processing for payment retries
- Strong knowledge of Node.js, Java, or Python
- REST API design and microservices concepts
- Database design (SQL preferred)
- Authentication (OAuth2, JWT)
- Payment gateway integration experience
- Message queues and retry systems
- Payment gateway integration (Razorpay, Paytm, Stripe, PayU)
- UPI and wallet transaction flows
- Tokenization and secure data transmission
- PCI-DSS compliance awareness
- Encryption, Keychain, and secure storage practices
- Fraud prevention fundamentals
- Idempotent API design and transaction consistency
Nice to have
- SwiftUI
- Combine and modern concurrency (Async/Await)
- Firebase, Crashlytics, analytics platforms
- CI/CD (Fastlane, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
- Experience in fintech, payments, banking, or POS systems
- Event-driven architecture (Kafka, RabbitMQ, queues)
- Reconciliation systems and ledger-based architectures
