Job Description
We're looking for someone to help us make our internal platform better, day in and day out. This isn't a 'build something brand new from scratch' job. Most of your work will be taking real needs from the team.
Responsibilities
- Build small-to-medium features and improvements across the platform, based on what the team needs
- Fix bugs and smooth out the parts that feel clunky
- Follow the way we already do things, so the codebase stays consistent and easy to live with
- Write tests for what you change — we like to keep things working
- Open clear, easy-to-review pull requests and ship in small, safe steps
- Talk to the team about what they need, and to the founder about what comes first
Qualifications
- A couple of years building and looking after real web apps with Laravel and a modern
- Comfortable with databases and writing queries that don't fall over.
- Good, steady Git habits — clean commits, tidy pull requests.
- Someone who writes tests because it's the right thing to do, not because they were told to.
- Reads existing code and works with its style instead of fighting it.
- Communicates clearly — can take a fuzzy request, ask the right questions, and turn it into
- Reliable and careful, and able to run with a well-described task on their own.
- Tailwind CSS, TypeScript, or progressive-web-app experience.
- Worked with roles and permissions before.
- Familiar with orders, CRM, inventory, or anything finance-related.
- Connected up outside services like payments, WhatsApp, or marketplaces.
- Comfortable with deploying — VPS, GitHub Actions, that sort of thing.
- Small, safe changes. We keep the main branch stable and the tests green.
- You'll work on your own branch, open a pull request, get a quick review, and merge.
- Trusted people on the team can deploy to production — we just expect care and good
- Direct and low-fuss. Not a lot of process to fight through.
- Month 1: get to know the codebase and how we work, and start shipping small, well-tested
- Month 2: picking up tasks on your own, asking sharp questions, and turning them around
- Month 3: a trusted pair of hands — the person we can hand "make this better" to and know it'll
- A short note on why this feels like a good fit for you.
- Links to your work or GitHub — especially anything with Laravel and React.
- A line or two on your experience looking after existing code, not just building new things.
