Overview

Engineer at Deutsche Bank in the dbSleuth Team, contributing to Trader and Counterparty surveillance systems across all business sections of the bank.

Responsibilities

Analyse problems and evaluate multiple solutions against engineering, business & strategic criteria
Identify and resolve barriers to business deliveries implementing solutions which iteratively deliver value
Design solutions using common design patterns with a range of design tools & techniques
Conduct peer reviews to ensure designs are fit for purpose, extensible & re-usable
Design & build secure and controlled solutions
Provide leadership within a delivery team through modeling, coding, testing, and collaboration

Qualifications

Core Programming language expertise in Scala and Java
Working with very large datasets using Big Data technologies such as Spark, Impala and Hive
Knowledge of Hadoop functioning & infrastructure
Experience with data modeling tools and domain-driven design
Strong knowledge of SQL and advanced data analysis to deliver good quality code within enterprise scale development (CI/CD)
Experience with SDLC tools - Git, JIRA, Artifactory, Jenkins/TeamCity, OpenShift

Nice to have

Familiarity with solution design tools
Understanding of security, risk & control
Experience in identifying and improving delivery processes
Knowledge of unit testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, Jest, React Testing Library
