Overview
Software Engineer (AI/ML & Embedded) at VEDA Aeronautics working on deploying heavy AI workloads on resource-constrained edge devices for defense drone applications.
Responsibilities
- Optimize and deploy computer vision models on embedded platforms like NVIDIA Jetson or Raspberry Pi systems.
- Build low-latency video and ML pipelines with Gstreamer, OpenCV, and hardware-accelerated decoding.
- Develop logic for autonomous operations and robotics integration (ROS/ROS2).
- Create basic C++/Python based tools for internal workflows; fork, modify and extend existing open-source softwares.
- Maximize performance under thermal/power limits via quantization, pruning and multi-threading.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in Python and C++
- Good background in Computer Vision (OpenCV) and Deep Learning frameworks (PyTorch/TensorFlow)
- Experience with Linux (Ubuntu/Debian) environment and shell scripting
Nice to have
- Familiarity with MAVLink protocol
- Experience with sensor fusion (combining GPS, Optical Flow, and Lidar data)
- Previous work on autonomous navigation systems
- Experience with Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANET) and mesh networking for UAV swarms
