Job description
Overview
APPIT Software Solutions is hiring a Data Engineer (Python & SQL) in Hyderabad, India. Design and build robust data pipelines and ETL workflows using Python, SQL, and cloud-native tools at APPIT Software in Hyderabad.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Python and SQL
- Develop ETL workflows to ingest data from diverse sources into the data warehouse
- Optimize query performance and data storage across PostgreSQL and cloud data stores
- Collaborate with data analysts and scientists to model data for business insights
- Implement data quality checks, monitoring, and alerting for production pipelines
- Document data architecture, lineage, and transformation logic for cross-team visibility
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of hands-on experience in data engineering or backend development
- Strong proficiency in Python (pandas, PySpark, or similar) and advanced SQL
- Working knowledge of workflow orchestration tools such as Apache Airflow or Prefect
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, star/snowflake schemas, and dimensional modeling
- Understanding of version control (Git) and CI/CD practices for data projects
- Knowledge of dbt for data transformations
- Exposure to streaming data with Kafka or Kinesis
