Overview
We're looking for a customer-focused Data Platform Cloud/ multicloud Presales, Solution Engineer to help enterprise customers design, evaluate, and adopt modern data, analytics, AI, and cloud solutions on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
Responsibilities
- Understand customer business goals, data challenges, and modernization priorities, and translate them into scalable, secure, high-performing OCI architectures
- Lead architecture discussions spanning Autonomous Database, Exadata, warehouse modernization, lakehouse, analytics, AI/ML, and data integration
- Support opportunity qualification, technical discovery, proposals, and RFP responses
- Act as a trusted advisor to CIOs, CDOs, data leaders, architects, and business stakeholders
- Lead workshops, whiteboarding sessions, executive briefings, and technical deep dives
- Guide customers on cloud adoption, database modernization, analytics transformation, AI readiness, and data governance
- Deliver demos of Oracle data platform capabilities (Autonomous Database, Oracle Analytics, GoldenGate, Data Integration, Data Lakehouse, AI Services)
- Define and lead PoCs — scope, success criteria, workload sizing, evaluation metrics — to validate architecture, performance, and business value
- Present findings and recommendations to technical and business decision-makers
- Advise on modern architecture patterns: cloud data warehouses, data lakes/lakehouse, real-time replication, streaming, and AI-enabled platforms
- Guide customers on ingestion, migration, replication, transformation, governance, security, performance, and cost optimization
- Stay current on trends in data platforms, AI/generative AI, analytics, and competitive technologies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, Data Science, or related field
- Strong understanding of databases, data warehousing, data lakes, data integration, analytics, AI/ML, and cloud architecture
- Hands-on or architectural experience with cloud data platforms and enterprise data solutions
- Proven ability to lead technical discussions and translate business needs into solutions
- Strong communication, consultative selling, and stakeholder management skills
- Knowledge of data lakehouse, data mesh, real-time analytics, and hybrid cloud data platforms
- Understanding of generative AI use cases, vector search, MLOps, and AI-powered analytics
- Familiarity with competitive platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, BigQuery, Redshift, Synapse)
- Relevant certifications in cloud, database, data engineering, analytics, or AI/ML
