Overview

Data Engineer- Batch at Barclays Inc., focusing on designing and developing ETL solutions for BUK Shared Technology work in Information Management using Ab-Initio technologies. Responsible for creating optimal data pipeline architectures, implementing ETL solutions end-to-end, and supporting data infrastructure needs.

Responsibilities

Creating and maintaining optimal data pipeline architecture
Implementing ETL solutions end-to-end and providing support
Collaborating with stakeholders to address data-related technical issues
Taking ownership of ETL applications or processes
Providing technical assistance to team members
Contributing to technical standards
Adapting new tech skills and implementing internal process improvements

Qualifications

B.E./B. Tech degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields
Expertise in Ab-Initio (Batch) & ETL design/solution skills
Performance enhancement knowledge
Experience with relational databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, Teradata
Strong understanding of data and analytics, ETL, reporting tools, data governance, and data warehousing
Knowledge of big data technologies like Hive, Impala, HDFS, Scala, and SQL query writing

Nice to have

Proficiency in TWS Scheduling
Unix scripting
R, Python, Scala, and Pandas

Education

B.E./B. Tech degree in Computer Science or related fields
