Overview
As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will combine software and systems to help build a world-class engineering function. Working with your team, you'll focus on improving our production applications and systems to creatively solve operations problems using automation.
Responsibilities
- Improve production applications and systems
- Optimize existing systems and build infrastructure
- Eliminate work through automation
- Resilient infrastructure design
- Automated CI/CD deployment pipelines
- Infrastructure provisioning using Terraform, Ansible or CloudFormation
- Cost, performance, security, governance and compliance optimization
- Incident response, root cause analysis (RCA), and post-mortems
- Collaborate with Cloud Security teams for compliant architectures
- Vulnerability scanning, patching, policy enforcement
- Identity and Access Management (IAM) policies implementation
- Integrate security-by-design into platform layers including IAM, networking and secrets management
- Troubleshoot network, storage, compute, application layers
- Monitor, analyze, and enhance system performance including data-driven observability
Qualifications
- 10 years of IT experience in systems engineering, software development and production support in mission critical environments
- Experience with modern agile software delivery practices such as scrum, version control, continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD), DevOps
- Experience in Resiliency patterns (Scalability, Pave/Repave), Self-healing, Chaos Engineering, Performance Monitoring, Continuous performance improvements
- Experience of automating tasks and writing tools in scripting languages (Python, Bash)
- OS and Web server experience (RHEL, Apache/Tomcat/Springboot) with strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of containerization platforms such as Docker / Kubernetes
- Understanding of Job Scheduling tools like Autosys/CTRL-M or Airflow
- AWS cloud platform/services exposure
- Experience building, changing, destroying AWS infrastructure using Terraform
- Experience with data/event streaming technologies such as Kafka is a plus
- Experience of Big Data platforms such as Hadoop / Spark is a plus
- Experience with NoSQL, column oriented / key-value distributed database systems such as Cassandra, HBase & Elasticsearch is a plus
- Participate in the 24x7 support coverage as needed
