Overview
Site Reliability Engineer II at Mastercard. Ensure reliability, scalability, and performance of applications supporting global operations with a focus on operational readiness, automation, and mentorship.
Responsibilities
- Work independently on elements of projects/processes in Site Reliability Engineering
- Support implementation and maintenance of high-availability systems for operational stability
- Evaluate operational needs and develop technical solutions under guidance
- Contribute to automation and scripting projects to streamline tasks
- Troubleshoot and resolve system issues with escalation support when needed
- Document procedures and share knowledge within the team
- Participate in quality checks for system stability
- Engage early in product development lifecycle as part of operations standards
Qualifications
- Apply skills independently in routine and moderately complex situations
- Observability using scripting/monitoring tools
- Programming & Scripting to automate tasks, build operational tools
- Systems and Network Administration (Linux/Unix)
- Cloud Computing and Infrastructure design across AWS/Azure/GCP
- Reliability and Scalability principles
- DevOps Practices including CI/CD pipelines and orchestration
- Troubleshooting technical issues across systems/applications/networks
- Capacity Planning and Performance Optimization
- IT Service Management for incident/problem/change management
- Use application reliability data to anticipate risks and drive improvements
Nice to have
- Prior experience in enterprise IT environment
- Mentor junior engineers in SRE practices
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
