Overview
Architect and maintain self-hosted Elasticsearch clusters, implement backup and recovery processes for Elastic indices, develop and optimize semantic search capabilities using machine learning models like BERT-based ELSER.
Responsibilities
- Architect and maintain self-hosted Elasticsearch clusters including node configuration, replication, and sharding strategies
- Implement backup and recovery processes for Elastic indices
- Develop and optimize semantic search capabilities using machine learning models (e.g., BERT-based ELSER)
- Enhance search relevancy through role-based indexing and boosting strategies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Elastic with knowledge management tools and improve user experience
- Monitor cluster performance and apply best practices for scalability and observability
- Develop automation scripts and tools for deployment, monitoring, index management, and routine maintenance activities
- Implement security best practices including authentication, authorization, role-based access control (RBAC), and encryption
- Work closely with data engineers, application developers, and AI/ML teams to continuously improve search quality and overall platform performance
- Stay up to date with the latest Elasticsearch features, semantic search advancements, and AI-powered search technologies
