Overview
The Financial Engineering team at OpenAI ensures that our products are monetized effectively. An experienced engineer will architect and refine billing systems, enhancing functionality to meet the demands of complex product offerings.
Responsibilities
- Architect and build the next generation of billing and monetization systems
- Develop across the stack to create comprehensive billing integrations for ChatGPT and API users
- Design a versatile billing platform suitable for both subscription and usage-based offerings
- Construct and integrate tools that empower internal teams to seamlessly incorporate billing data into their workflows
- Collaborate closely with a wide array of stakeholders, including Product, Data, Finance, GTM teams
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of professional software engineering experience
- Experience in payments, billing, or monetization (bonus)
- Engaging with various partners, particularly those outside of engineering
- Desire to learn and acquire new skills
- Experience developing (and redeveloping) production systems
- Ability to move fast in an environment where things are sometimes loosely defined
