Overview
Senior Data Engineer for Clinical Trial Management at Roche Diagnostics, responsible for leading the design, development and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and infrastructure.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design, build, and maintenance of scalable data pipelines
- Execute specific data engineering projects from start to finish independently
- Solve complex data ingestion and processing problems
- Optimize data flows and enhance overall system performance
- Engage directly with broader business units and data scientists to understand and meet their data needs
- Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Handle big-sized data engineering projects requiring robust strategies that improve the organization's data infrastructure
- Manage complex, large-scale data systems integrating multiple diverse data sources
Qualifications
- Experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) pipelines
- Experience with vector databases like Pinecone, Milvus, Chroma
- Experience with agentic AI frameworks such as LangChain, AutoGen, and CrewAI
- Proficiency in Data Mesh concepts
- Decentralized data architectures
- Semantic data modeling
- Knowledge graphs
- Ontologies
- Ability to implement automated profiling, data lineage tracking, and anomaly detection using frameworks like Great Expectations, Monte Carlo, or dbt
- Deep understanding of Clinical Trial Execution (CTE) workflows
- Experience with operational data systems, specifically CTMS, EDC, and Interactive Response Technology (IxRS)
- Experience designing and managing the lifecycle of reusable data products
- Setting SLAs, creating documentation, and ensuring compliance with GxP standards
- Proven track record in product-led agile teams
- Translating business requirements from clinical operators into technical data specifications
- Communicating complex AI readiness concepts to non-technical stakeholders
