Founded in 2018, Pluang has transformed the financial landscape in Indonesia. Our mission is clear—empower millennials with easy access to savings and investments and eliminate high fees. As a leading super app in Southeast Asia, we offer a range of affordable financial products, ensuring that everyone can save and invest for a better future regardless of their income or education. The story behind founding of Pluang Pluang’s story began in 2015 at Harvard Business School, where Claudia and Richard met as classmates. They shared an interest in investment, technology, and entrepreneurship. During their studies, Claudia and Richard realized that Americans have unlimited opportunities to create wealth—with access to a wide range of global financial assets and at very low costs—while Indonesians do not have the same opportunities. Less than 0.2% of Indonesia’s 250 million population has invested. The cost of investing is still high and the asset classes are quite limited. Claudia and Richard eventually saw this as an opportunity to empower the millennial generation in Indonesia, to create wealth through investment. Two years after graduating, Claudia and Richard founded Pluang, and became a husband and wife Co-Founders.
