Overview
Build the first Site Reliability Engineering function from the ground up. Define what reliability means for systems, build practices and tooling that make production stable and predictable, and hire and shape the very first engineer on your team.
Responsibilities
- Own on-call and incidents
- Drive production reliability (availability, latency, backup/restore practices)
- Reduce operational toil via automation
- Implement strong operational standards
- Build the team by hiring the first SRE individual contributor
Qualifications
- 2+ managing or team lead responsibilities for site reliability engineering
- Robust core Linux fundamentals
- Experience with monitoring/observability tooling (Greylog, Prometheus/Grafana)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Database experience (Oracle strongly preferred)
- Experience with virtualization platforms (Proxmox VE preferred)
Nice to have
- General hypervisor/VM management concepts (KVM, VMware)
- Working knowledge of AWS core services
