Overview
Job Title: Web Engineer II, API Developer Portal (L09) Company Overview: Synchrony (NYSE: SYF) is a premier consumer financial services company delivering one of the industrys most complete digitally enabled product suites.
Responsibilities
- Implement new web technologies and assist developers as they migrate to new technologies
- Work as a fullstack developer
- Work effectively in crossfunctional teams with both technical and business stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with architecture, security and technology standards set by Synchrony
- Participate in Agile scrums consisting of crossfunctional teams
- Lead Agile sprints as technical expert, including sprint planning, daily standups, backlog grooming sessions, and sprint reviews
- Ensure application code quality through development, test, and QA
- Analyze production defects, troubleshoot systems, identify root causes, and implement fixes
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related degree with 25 years of Modern Application experience (or equivalent work experience)
- 2+ years of handson experience with web development technologies
- Proficiency in both frontend and backend technologies
- Knowledge of CI/CD, version control, and logging tools such as Cloudbees, JIRA, Bitbucket, and Splunk
- Familiarity with trending technologies like AI, Copilot, etc. and the ability to apply them in realtime use cases
- Strong communication, analytical, and structured problemsolving skills
- Passionate about the latest technologies, open source projects, and programming languages
- Desired Characteristics
- Prior experience with Apigee
- Good understanding of integration techniques
- Good understanding of MySQL databases, queries, and troubleshooting
- in the Banking & Financial domain is a plus
- Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required
- Eligibility Criteria
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related degree with 25 years of Modern Application experience (or equivalent work experience)
- Work Timings
- 2:00PM11:00PM IST. This role qualifies for Enhanced Flexibility offered in Synchrony India and requires availability between 06:00AM Eastern Time and 11:30AM Eastern Time for meetings with India and US teams. The remaining hours are flexible for the employee. Exceptions may apply based on business needs.
- Flexibility / Remote Options
- Option to work from home or from Workspace locations in Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Pune, Kolkata, or Delhi/NCR. Occasional travel to Hyderabad or one of the Regional Engagement Hubs may be required for inperson engagement activities such as business or team meetings, trainings, and culture events.
