Job description
Overview
Drip · Full-time · On-site
Responsibilities
- Design the data model and APIs, then build the frontend, real-time updates, and payment flow.
- Create a usable prototype independently and collaborate with our designer to refine the experience.
- Test critical flows and failure cases, deploy safely, and monitor production behavior.
- Instrument the feature, track its performance, and improve it using data and user feedback.
Qualifications
- Production experience: 6+ years building production software, including 4+ years of hands-on experience with React and Node.js/TypeScript.
- Systems judgment: You design clear data models and APIs, understand race conditions, idempotency, and consistency, and can explain the tradeoffs behind your decisions.
- Effective AI-assisted development: You use Claude Code, Cursor, or similar tools daily for development and review. You understand their limitations and can explain, debug, and validate the code you ship.
- Product sense: You can turn a loosely defined problem into a usable feature, identify missing requirements, and make thoughtful decisions about scope and UX.
- Ownership of quality: You review code critically, write meaningful unit and integration tests, and use monitoring and failure handling to keep features reliable.
- Clear communication: You raise questions and tradeoffs early and work effectively with engineering, product, design, and business teammates across India and the US.
- Location and hours: You work on-site in Chennai and can overlap at least 8 hours a day with US Eastern business hours.
- Your résumé and a GitHub profile, project link, or description of something you shipped.
- A short example of a feature you owned from idea to production: what you built, how you used AI, and how you verified its output, including an error you caught.
