Toxic Work Culture and Unfair Management
Pros: Free Lunch for all employees
Cons: I joined this company as a lateral hire in the BI & Analytics team, expecting to work as a Power BI Developer. Unfortunately, it turned out to be one of the worst professional experiences of my career. Instead of working in the role I was hired for, I was assigned to multiple projects involving technologies outside my area of expertise. I was expected to quickly switch between different technologies and deliver results within unrealistic timelines, often without sufficient time to understand the requirements or the technology. The constant pressure to deliver under these circumstances created an unnecessarily stressful work environment. The work culture was toxic. The senior consultant I worked under frequently contacted me outside working hours through Teams and WhatsApp, often expecting urgent tasks to be completed immediately. I was also subjected to repeated verbal abuse and disrespectful behaviour. Despite raising these concerns with my manager and HR on multiple occasions, I felt my complaints were ignored, and no meaningful action was taken. In my experience, the organization had several long-serving leaders working alongside their family members within the team, creating an environment of favoritism and partiality. I felt employee concerns were not addressed fairly, and important decisions often lacked impartiality. Overall, the work environment lacked the professionalism, fairness, and support I expected from an organization, which is why I left after about a year. I would not recommend this organization to experienced professionals seeking a respectful workplace, supportive leadership, fair performance evaluations, and meaningful career growth.
