It was a good experience, asked basic dsa questions and sql queries and also about projects related to sql some behavioral questions as well like how would you resolve a conflict , how would communicate properly with team

Lateral recruited to Barclays , I have been ex-Barclays employee. Interview process was smooth. I contact the hiring manager through internal referral and within few days - call interview rounds were scheduled and offer released well by all levels.

The interview process consisted of an initial résumé screening, followed by an aptitude/technical assessment. Shortlisted candidates attended a technical interview covering core concepts, projects, problem-solving and role-related skills. The final round was an HR interview focused on communication, career goals, strengths, availability and company fit.

Barclays Interview Experience Round 1 – Online Assessment: Aptitude, logical reasoning, quantitative ability, and technical/finance-related questions. There were also questions based on data interpretation and problem-solving. Round 2 – Technical Interview: Questions focused on my resume, projects, Python/SQL, machine learning concepts, statistics, and basic finance/economics concepts. The interviewer also asked me to explain my projects and the reasoning behind the models and methodologies I used. Round 3 – HR/Behavioral Interview: Questions included “Tell me about yourself,” strengths and weaknesses, why Barclays, why this role, teamwork experiences, challenges faced during projects, and career goals. There were also follow-up questions based on my answers. Overall Experience: The interview was structured and conversational. The interviewers focused heavily on understanding concepts rather than just memorized answers. Being familiar with everything mentioned on the resume was important, as most questions were followed by detailed cross-questioning.

Interviewer was really friendly and supportive. They wanted to know my thought process. Barclays focused more on basic system design (sql vs no sql, CAP theorem) and basic dsa. I had more projects in ai but they wanted backend projects with databases.
