Headquartered in Portland, Oregon, Alpha Media owns or operates over 200 live broadcast radio stations and digital properties covering all formats serving 44 markets across the United States. In addition to our over-the-air broadcasts, Alpha audio products can be heard across multiple platforms, including all major smart devices. Strong relationships with our listeners and clients in the communities where we live and work keep Alpha Media true to its local-first heritage. Alpha Media was formed by veteran radio executive, Larry Wilson in August 2009 and was originally named Alpha Broadcasting. Alpha Broadcasting initially acquired six Portland radio stations; KINK-FM, KUPL-FM, KUFO-FM, KCMD-AM, KXL-AM and KXTG-FM. In 2012, L&L Broadcasting was established and began acquiring stations across the country. On July 1, 2014, L&L Broadcasting and Alpha Broadcasting merged, creating Alpha Media. Between the original Portland stations and the new transactions, Alpha Media owned 69 radio stations in 12 markets across the US. In the beginning of 2016, Alpha Media acquired 114 stations from Digity, LLC. Today, the company owns or operates radio stations in multiple markets across the US.
