Snowflake Developer· ChennaiVery_difficultno offer
I attended multiple interview rounds for a Snowflake Developer position at Altimetrik. After successfully completing two technical rounds, I was asked to upload all my documents and complete Digi verification, which gave the impression that my profile was progressing positively.
However, during a later stage, I was informed that strong PySpark experience was mandatory for the project and that my profile was not suitable. My primary skills are Snowflake, SQL, PL/SQL, AWS, and Python basics. This requirement was not communicated during the initial screening or the first two interview rounds.
If PySpark was a mandatory requirement, it would have been better to communicate it before conducting multiple interview rounds and requesting document submission and Digi verification. This would have saved considerable time and effort for both the candidate and the recruitment team.
Sample questions
- They asked me to explain the project flow with PySpark-based transformations. My experience is mainly in Snowflake and related technologies, so I explained the Snowflake project flow and acknowledged that I did not have hands-on PySpark experience.

Worst interview experience.
I got selected and they even asked to submit all my documents but they didn’t roll any offer. They wasted my time and effort and also took my personal documents for no reason. If they never had to roll any offer there was no point of dragging it for 20days. I was hoping an offer after so much of time and efforts but the hr kept saying we will look and get back. Never actually got back to me.

Pros:
The technical interview experience was genuinely good. I interviewed virtually for a Data Engineer position, and the interviewer was professional and asked relevant questions around data engineering, SQL, and coding. I was able to answer the questions, and the discussion went well.
At the end of the interview, the interviewer asked about my availability to join and said that he was looking forward to meeting me soon as part of the team. Overall, the interviewer himself gave me a very positive impression of the technical and professional culture.
Cons:
Unfortunately, the recruitment experience after the interview was extremely disappointing.
It has now been about a week since the interview, and despite following up with the HR/recruiter, I have not received any clear update regarding the interview feedback or next steps. Calls have not been answered, and there has been no meaningful communication about the status of my application.
I understand that hiring decisions can take time and that delays can happen. However, basic communication with candidates should not be difficult. Even a simple message stating that the process is still under review, delayed, or that the company has decided not to proceed would be much more professional than leaving a candidate without any information.
Overall:
The technical interview itself was a positive experience, but the post-interview recruitment process significantly affected my overall impression of the company. A company can have excellent interviewers, but the candidate experience also depends heavily on how HR communicates after the interview.
I would recommend that candidates keep expectations realistic and follow up proactively until they receive a formal confirmation or offer. The recruitment communication process definitely needs improvement.
