Pros: Good culture, work life balance
Cons: Mediocre work, backend work , less exposure
View on GlassdoorPros: Excellent work culture, good bonus, extra perks, learning and mobility within organisation
Cons: Politics, skewed appraisal system and ambiguity in reporting structure.
View on GlassdoorPros: If you land in a team where you like the work you do and your leaders are good people, the entire experience is elevated. There are a lot of opportunities to learn new tools and technologies. As of August 2026, BNY is among the leaders in AI implementation across the financial services industry. The Pune office is a nice place to work - a huge upgrade from the Magarpatta offices, though there are pros and cons to everything.
Cons: There is huge cost-cutting pressure across everything, along with constant pressure on headcount reduction. Someone who gets the highest year-end rating is barely getting a 15-17% hike, while most people who get the average Meets Expectations rating are getting low single-digit hikes. (All of this is as per what happens in the India location.) Almost all avenues of internal growth have been shut. There is only a year-end promotion now - earlier there were mid-year promotions, promotions through internal job changes, and promotions within the same team when someone left the organisation. Now they have made promotions extremely difficult. Growth in the company is not easy anymore, and there is a constant threat of being laid off. You are made to work late and on weekends, with none of the overtime or weekend-working benefits that were provided earlier. Overall, employee satisfaction has gone down significantly ever since the new CEO started implementing his policies in late 2022. He brought his own people to the top, removed a lot of great leaders, and is focused solely on share price maximisation and nothing else. The entire bank has moved to the Platforms Operating Model after a suggestion by some McKinsey consultants. It was done in a very haphazard way and is only going to get worse as time passes. Leaders don't care much - their attitude is "make hay while the sun shines". I have seen many people who completed 35, 30, 25, 20 years with the bank being laid off overnight, in a very blunt way. BNY is no longer a people-centric company. It now works like a private-equity-run organisation whose sole objective is shareholder maximisation.
View on GlassdoorPros: Benefits are more comp related than services related
Cons: Changes being implemented top-down lacks clarity and has sown widespread confusion and panic
View on GlassdoorPros: Work life balance, Opportunities, facilities.
Cons: Work from office model (4 days a week)

Had 1 technical and 1hr round Focus on basics and behavioural questions. Dsa question level will be leetcode medium. Tech interview also focuses on the things you mentioned on resume so prepare that well
Sample questions
Interviewer was eating while taking the interview in the last round. the interview was of three rounds. the first round was mostly technical where basic questions were asked but at the last round he asked me to draw the ER model of the amazon delivery system.
Sample questions
The interview was good they mostly focused on the GenAi and latest trends rather than simple python questions and also real life projects. Also it depends on the panel i got senior manager so my interview was quite tough compared to others, but my friends were saying that interview was easy and they also get offer.
Good experience , the interview was tough and too technical . Multiple rounds were conducted. Overall it was seamless and worth it. BNY MELLON has a great history to talk on.
Smooth and easy quick interview on a busy day. Few imp character personality questions and salary discussions to wrap up the interview. Interviewer was jolly and friendly from Mumbai. Very easy going process and onboarding
