Supportive colleagues amidst chaotic management and processes
Pros: The people are amazing. As with all companies there are a few bad apples but the people who work with Cohere are in general kind and supportive. They support you and help you.
Cons: The entire company is pure chaos. They are trying so hard to become profitable that they are not keeping up with the way things should be done. Proper procedures don't exist. No one talks to each other because they are all panicking about their own tasks that they are understaffed to complete. Management is unfocused and and jumping from task to task, which is confusing for employees. There is no guidance for prioritization and it feels like they are just "hoping things will work out."

Great company - terrible pay
Pros: Great company, great problem space. Lot of growth in terms of problems to solve and tech to use.
Cons: Pay is terrible. Moving up the ladder is hard.

Poor management practices
Pros: Remote work. Some hiring happening.
Cons: Made unrealistic promises to customers. Constantly changing priorities. Attempting to build a cheaper India team with no plans to manage the time or cultural differences, or the contractual obligations that blocks data access outside the US. A belief that AI is going to solve all the problems with development in a stack riddled with technical debt.
