"I recently interviewed at Intellias and quickly realized this was less of an interview and more of a scripted formality. The panels seemed disengaged from the start—one member avoided eye contact, and questions felt rushed and unprepared. Half an hour in, it was obvious they were just going through the motions to close the conversation. The most surprising part? Being told I lacked ‘basic process knowledge’ and didn’t know my KPIs — do I know my key metrics? Yes, well enough to have delivered on them for 8 years. As a candidate, it felt like my time and effort weren’t respected. Professionalism and clear communication are basic expectations, and this experience strongly impacted my perception of the company’s culture. I hope they take feedback from candidates seriously and improve their hiring process. It’s disappointing when interviews turn into box-ticking exercises rather than genuine opportunities to assess skills and potential."

First there is a coding round with Streams API which is not straight forward. Followed by it is another live coding round where they will share you their project and you have to code there, which is also using only Streams API.

There were a total of 4 rounds in the interview process: Online Test The first round was a technical test focused on core programming concepts, problem-solving, and coding skills. Technical Round 1 (T1) This round involved in-depth questions related to backend development, data structures, and project experience. It included both theoretical and practical coding problems. Technical Round 2 (T2) Focused more on system design, architecture, and advanced Node.js/NestJS concepts. Also included scenario-based questions. Technical Round 3 (T3) This was a deep-dive into code quality, debugging, testing practices, and real-world challenges faced in previous projects.

Was a pretty good process, the interviewer was familiar and good with knowledge. They asked core questions and how the things works in general. But the process of hiring was okay and they had several rounds even after base rounds.
