Misleading interview experience for Data Scientist role The JD mentioned Python, SQL, statistical analysis and Data Science/AI skills, so I prepared accordingly. HR also told me that no banking/finance knowledge was required. However, my interview had zero technical assessment — no Python, SQL, ML, statistics, coding, or AI questions. Instead, the discussion focused almost entirely on business cases, portfolio/funnel-related topics, customer adoption, and how to sell services to customers. The interviewer also repeatedly commented that I was "too technical." This felt much more like a business analyst/business-facing role than the technical Data Scientist position described in the JD. If the interview was intended to evaluate business/product skills, that should have been communicated beforehand so candidates could prepare appropriately. Very disappointing use of candidates' time given the mismatch between the advertised requirements and the actual interview.

The interview process was smooth and well organized. The interviewer asked questions about my background, communication skills, customer handling, teamwork, and internship experience. The discussion was professional, friendly, and focused on understanding my problem-solving approach and attitude.

First round was DSA , LLD and distributed systems which is barraiser round. I was asked Two Sum and best time to buy and sell stocks in DSA , Asked to design LLD for food delivery system like swiggy,zomato and few questions on distributed systems

This was followed by a business case-study round with the hiring manager to evaluate problem-solving skills. The final step was a standard HR interview covering behavioral questions, cultural fit, and salary expectations.
