I got interviewed for the screening round by hiring manager. He tried understanding what i did in my past current organization and tried to downplay every skill i had. The interviewer kept on asking random questions which were specifically not around the role and made sure i felt miserable. At the end when i tried to know more about the product they were hiring for, he made sure i feel sorry for asking it and accused me of not reading the JD enough.

First round online ( typically tech and pgm skills) and second round -walkin at office ( again Tech and Pgm skills) and Third round is the hiring round usually online ( US or Ireland)
Sample questions
I recently interviewed at NetApp, Bengaluru, and honestly, the interview experience left me quite surprised. The expectations seemed disproportionately high compared to what I would have expected for the role. There were a total of four rounds, with back-to-back DSA questions ranging from moderate to difficult, followed by a system design round where we were expected to design a fairly complex system in roughly 30 minutes. A few of the interviewers were genuinely good, understanding, and made the discussion feel like a proper technical conversation. However, some seemed to have expectations closer to what I would associate with interviews at top-tier MAANG companies. At times, I genuinely wondered: is the current job market really this competitive, or have companies significantly raised their interview expectations? To be honest, if I were consistently able to solve the kind of questions being asked and design complex systems under such tight time constraints, I would probably be targeting Google, Microsoft, or other top-tier MNCs rather than interviewing at NetApp. There is nothing wrong with having a challenging interview process, but the difficulty and expectations should ideally be aligned with the role, experience level, and compensation. Otherwise, it starts feeling less like evaluating whether a candidate is a good fit and more like testing how much interview preparation they have done.
