Good company overall, but issues with open-source team manager
Pros: Overall, the company is good and provides good perks and benefits.
Good opportunities to learn and work on meaningful technical problems.
Cons: My experience with the Open Source team management was significantly less positive than my overall experience with the company.
There is unnecessary pressure around working from the office, including situations where the work can be performed effectively remotely.
I observed favoritism and inconsistent treatment within the team. Some employees appear to receive more flexibility, while others face significantly more scrutiny.
There is a high level of micromanagement and micro-tracking.
During review/performance discussions, when there are no significant issues with actual delivery, the discussion can shift toward minor points such as exact timings, status updates, or other process-related matters.
In some cases, these minor points seem to receive more attention than the employee's actual delivery, quality of code, ownership, and overall contribution.
This can result in an employee's performance being portrayed negatively despite having delivered important tasks and projects successfully.
Performance reviews should be based primarily on impact, delivery, quality, ownership, and technical contribution, rather than disproportionately focusing on minor tracking or process-related issues.
Major Concern — Open Source Team Manager
The team manager is the biggest concern from my experience.
I observed what appeared to be unequal treatment, where some employees received more flexibility while others were closely monitored.
There was also a perception that employees who were not favored by the manager could face increased scrutiny, while favored employees received more flexibility.
Concerns about favoritism, micromanagement, performance evaluation, work-from-office pressure, and management practices were raised with HR multiple times.
Unfortunately, I did not see sufficient action or meaningful improvement.
I saw good and capable employees leave because of these issues, which is particularly disappointing given that the company itself has many positives.
Great culture and learning, but HR is unresponsive
Pros: Culture and people are the best that you can get!
It will makes you feel second home!
I learned lot of things in Cloud and related Technologies and made me confident about the same
Cons: The HR management is bit shady and their response doesn’t align with the department response
They Leave people in blind rejection
Even though the people of department were positive about me but HR rejected me without any reason
Good Learning Experience, with Scope for Improvement in Evaluation Process
Pros: Structured induction process, Very good learning opportunities, and exposure to professional development practices.
Cons: The evaluation process could be more standardized. Differences in questioning style and evaluation approaches may sometimes result in an inconsistent assessment experience.
Good workplace for learning and professional growth
Pros: Good learning opportunities, supportive team members, and exposure to real-world projects. The company provides a good environment for improving technical and professional skills.
Cons: Workload can sometimes be challenging, and project requirements may change quickly. Growth opportunities and processes could be made more structured for employees.
Great culture with strong focus on learning and growth
Pros: Positive, collaborative work culture where team members are approachable and willing to help
Strong emphasis on continuous learning — encouraged to pick up new tools and testing areas beyond the basics
Given real ownership of tasks early on, which helped build confidence and technical depth quickly
Regular one-on-ones with reporting manager focused on genuine career growth, not just status updates
Exposure to a good mix of testing domains (UI automation, API testing, and newer areas like AI-related testing) that keeps the work interesting
Cons: Nothing major to highlight as of now — overall experience has been smooth and positive.
