Pros: Good ML exposure: I’ll get to work on real ML/AI problems instead of doing only analytics. End-to-end work: I can potentially work from data and model building all the way to deployment. Good domain: The EV/automotive space is interesting, especially things like battery analytics, demand forecasting and vehicle data. More ownership: Since it’s a growing company, I may get more responsibility and have a chance to build things from scratch. Good for my career: It can help me move toward an ML Engineer / AI Engineer profile.
Cons: Work can be broad: As a Data Scientist, I might end up doing ML + data engineering + backend work together. Less structured environment: Compared with a large company, mentorship and processes may not be as mature. Workload can be high: More ownership can also mean more responsibility and longer hours. Company stability: A smaller/growing company generally carries more business risk.Domain specialization: A lot of my work may become focused on automotive/EV, which could be less relevant for some future roles.
