Diverse team, but pay is very low
Pros: Diverse team and people tend to get along with a few exceptions. Hybrid work schedule
Cons: Very cheap, The level of micromanaging increases each year. The job itself is not overly demanding after initial training.

Remote jobs available, but disorganized application process
Pros: It has the kind of jobs I want to work in and they are are remote which is all I'm looking for.
Cons: They have you do the application and fill out their papers and do the tests and put in your direct deposit information, but they never have tasks on the jobs and then you will get another email saying there's an job opportunity for you 'in the next few days' and it ends up being the same job you were already supposed to be starting a month or more ago

Company culture has declined with poor communication and job instability
Pros: Used to be years of steady part time work with decent communication with management and clear expectations. We had PTO and benefits and a pretty good employee morale overall. The diversity was also pretty refreshing.
Cons: About two years ago, the company started to go downhill. They started with first taking away all of our PTO (for states that would allow it), and then took back already earned PTO after a certain date. Then, work stopped flowing to raters and there was zero transparency about it. The expectation was that we are to continue to log on and work, but yet we'd 'go to work' every day to find long periods of time (ie. days to weeks) with zero work to perform. To quell the communication between us about this, they eliminated our ability to communicate with each other through Viva Engage. Then came waves of indiscriminate firings with zero notice under the guise of poor performance metrics. What they want is for you to sit at your computer and refresh until a task pops (refresh for free, not paid, for hours potentially) and if you don't you will eventually be fired because there is some poor desperate soul who will refresh for 6 hours straight to work one task that pays about 10 cents. Some people had tasks in their queues, others didn't. If you didn't get tasks for some reason--your problem, because you will be fired for not sitting around waiting for them. If you are away from your desk and there is an email notice of a "task drop" and you aren't fast enough to get there and logon before some other hungry soul scoops it up, too bad. It's wild.

Selection process feels rigged and raises privacy concerns
Pros: Their newsletter is good at convincing you to apply, though I wonder where they got my email from.
Cons: Their selection process is rigged against you. Some test questions have no correct answer option as you're not supposed to pass them. Whatever you choose, you're in the wrong. This was the case with the Ukrainian culture knowledge test that I took. I was born in Ukraine and lived there my entire life so I could see what exactly they were getting wrong. And there were too many such questions for it to look accidental. They might be mining for people's data under the guise of offering well-paying ($30/hour) jobs. I wish I did my research before checking out their website.

Welo Data/Welocalize was good until Paul Carr took over
Pros: -Remote work
-Social events
-Opportunity to work with people around the globe
Cons: -Toxic culture
-Low pay
-Poor benefits, and always looking for ways to cut them further
-They hire and promote people who fake their job qualifications
-When people in leadership do unethical things, they remain in their role or get promoted
-This used to be a solid company, but now they're cutting everything that made it a high quality company and just riding out the reputation
