Battery Smart is India’s largest and fastest-growing battery-swapping network for electric two- and three-wheelers. Founded in 2019 by IIT Kanpur alumni Pulkit Khurana and Siddharth Sikka, our mission is to make electric mobility accessible, affordable, and sustainable for everyone.
We are transforming the EV ecosystem through our Battery-as-a-Service (BaaS) model, enabling EV drivers to swap depleted batteries for fully charged ones in under two minutes. By eliminating high upfront battery costs, reducing vehicle downtime, and increasing earning opportunities for drivers, we are accelerating the adoption of electric mobility across India.
Since launching our first battery swapping station in 2020, Battery Smart has grown into a nationwide network powering the journeys of over 1 lakh EV drivers every daythrough 1,600+ battery swapping stations across multiple cities. Supportive culture with great growth opportunities
Pros: Overall a very positive experience. The team has a genuinely collaborative and supportive culture, with a strong emphasis on work-life balance and an environment where people are encouraged to learn and take ownership. The mentorship is excellent, and the breadth of opportunities and exposure makes it a great place to grow both personally and professionally.
The interview process consisted of three rounds and was a good overall experience.
* **Round 1:** Questions on the P&L structure of certain cases. Also solved a SQL problem to identify each driver’s most frequent transaction partner.
* **Round 2:** Another P&L case, followed by a guesstimate on the number of domestic flights taking off from Delhi Airport per day.
* **Round 3:** Discussion around my previous projects and experience, followed by a guesstimate on estimating the parking capacity required for private cars at an airport.
Overall, the interviews were well structured and focused on business problem-solving, analytical thinking, SQL, guesstimates, and understanding of unit economics/P&L.

Round 3: HR/final discussion covering motivation, culture fit and role expectations.
The cases were practical and focused on EVs, battery swapping, operations, market sizing and business decisions. The overall process was completed quickly and was more focused on structured thinking and problem-solving than technical project-management theory.
